Why has Obama given billions to First Solar that "does not employ the majority of its workforce in the United States."
And "Jose Villarreal, a board member of the Center for American Progress — a left-wing think tank closely tied to the [Obama] administration that has lobbied aggressively for green energy loans — sits on the board of First Solar." Imagine that!
The Center for American Progress was created by billionaire George Soros (after successfully lobbying Congress to make 527's legal), Morton Halperin, John Podesta and Harold Ickes. [source: The Nation]
"It's the official Hillary Clinton think tank," an inside source confided to Christian Bourge of United Press International.
On May 3, 2004, CAP (Center for American Progress ) helped to launch David Brock's Media Matters for America. [source: The New York Times]
CAP posts daily "Talking Points" to guide the likeminded in their disputes with conservatives. The organization has also established an American Progress Action Fund as a "sister advocacy organization". [source: Think Progress]
Among Obama's leading advisers were John Podesta and at least ten additional CAP experts.
According to , CAP “has become ... an intellectual wellspring for Democratic policy proposals, including many that are shaping the agenda of the ... Obama administration.”
On virtually every policy matter, CAP's recommendations fit hand-in-glove with the Obama administration's values and agendas. [source: Bloomberg]
CAP's blog is Think Progress and draws freely on the resources of the George Soros-funded Media Matters. [source: Washington Free Beacon]
CAP Fellow David Sirota, was spokesman for independent Vermont Congressman Bernie Sanders, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the main American branch of the Socialist International.
And you should see the list of donors like the Rockefellers and Savings and Loan corporations (S&L).

Hey Liberals, what do you suppose America is ceding to China by borrowing trillions of dollars to be used for subsidizing failed clean energy companies? For example: Solar Trust of America ($2.1 billion), Evergreen Solar ($486 mil), Solyndra ($435 mil), Ener1 ($118.5 mil.), Beacon Power ($43 mil), Willard & Kelsey Solar Group ($6 mil), Spectra Watt ($.5 mil) and lets not forget Fiskar Motors, Schneider Electric, Abound Solar & A123 Systems laying off workers or moving overseas just to avoid bankruptcy.
Well I guess I answered my own question we are ceding TRILLIONS of taxpayer dollars, not to mention our sovereignty, national security, and least of all our self respect!
Until we gain some huge competitive advantage over China through technology, efficiency of production, or raw materials we will never compete with them in certain industries. Unfortunately, solar panels is one of them.

Why exactly would anyone want to run in a race towards something that is not economically viable? The point is not who wins the race to nowhere. The point is knowing which races to run.

. American Progress is anything but a news agency. They are a Progressive Leftist Organization that buys into the Dumbocrat agenda for the DOE!
The ads against WASTED Tax Payer money in NO WAY cedes the manufacturing future to China. If the money all goes down the drain just exactly how did that stop China's Illegal Trade Practices by allowing the Lyin' King to keep pissing away our hard earned Tax Dollars on project after project that made his contributors rich and stole American Tax Dollars?!
Are those companies still in business employing Americans? No they are not! So just exactly how does ending Obama's wasteful spending practices that in the end do not create sustainable jobs cede manufacturing to China when NO manufacturing is going on and all jobs were lost along with Billions of American Tax Dollars?
A completely biased and slanted Pro Lyin' King article that completely misses the point and tries to use the Nobama tactic of misdirection and putting blame somewhere else instead of plainly where it should be; on Obama, the DOE, and Chu!

It seems un-American to let business sell our technology and jobs overseas so "they" ,the corporations, can make more money. it's not business economics nor supply and demand, it's governmental policy. We don't have any problem with policy when we need a war to procure oil!

LOL, crep1291 has it backwards as usual, competent business people like Romney carefully weigh risk/reward based on sound principle. Now we have the complete opposite of that in the White House.

Romney has a typical businessman view of the world which is very short-sighted. CEOs are known for making risky decisions, not for making smart ones.

"I hope he can spell "America" right this time!!!! " Wish Obama knew that the death camps weren't run by the Polish, or that there are only 50 States in the US, not 57!

American leadership in [liberally deluded] critical industries that are NOT competitive with established mainstay sources. Constantly seeking utopia that can only exist in an economic vacuum. How's all this green investment working out for Europe as the Euro flirts with a 6 year low against the 'strong' dollar?

Not surprising., Romney can't avoid talking out of both sides of his mouth. He doesn't seem to know what he thinks without his handlers telling him.
