when the value of inanimate THINGS exceeds the value of LIVING beings, it's no surprise that stuff and the material from which stuff is made is going up.

barberb: well, back then we also paid more taxes and no one complained. Nor did we have all the gadgets that were becoming more important in people's lives than actual people.

It amazes me that we view $3.00 a gallon as good. I remember when it was $.99 a gallon. How I long for those days.

The price of gas last year is totally immaterial when I pull up to the pump this year.
As for the "tepid rise we've seen in the last couple of weeks," I don't consider a 28 cent/gal increase tepid.

If gas drops to $3 a gallon that would be nice. Seeing that its cheaper than last year is great, however whois in control is what matters because they can raise the price whenver they deem necessary and we sills till be at the pump.

It's the consumer's fault. Stop buying so much gas. Use Gas Buddy and when you do need to purchase gas get it for less. The consumers can control the prices if would band together, VOTE out big oil politicians and get back to supply and demand economics.
VOTE THEM ALL OUT AND START AGAIN! No more "lifetime" politicians!

NEVER IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT… WAS SO MUCH OWED… BY SO MANY … TO SO FEW…
FOR SPECULATORS ONLY - "IN OIL WE TRUST" ==================================
Oil Prices Continue To Rise – Invest In Oil & Gas Today!!
US OIL AND GAS INVESTMENTS =======================
SUPERIOR RETURN ON INVESTMENTS – “IN OIL WE TRUST” - Oil and Gas "price increases" will reflect how well you are doing – Higher oil and gas prices and consumers left with few alternative choices can provide investors with long term revenue
100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE - Just like Big Oil!! Oil and Gas participation offers substantial tax savings not available with traditional investments
MONTHLY INCOME - Your income will be supported by the higher gasoline prices your friends and neighbors struggle to pay - A continuous consumer based revenue stream - Oil and Gas investments can pay out for up to 30 years
PORTFOLIO DIVERSIFICATION - We spread your investments amongst the top 5 Oil & Gas companies - More Bang for your Buck! Oil is a depleting resource used in just about everything we consume. Ask yourself, what other commodity is in more demand with very few alternatives to turn to?
HEDGE AGAINST INFLATION – “Trust in Oil” The financial life-line you've been searching for while your friends and neighbors “Trust in God” and continue to struggle and make it day-to-day
IRA & 401K APPROVED – Income approved by and for a few… and disdained by millions!!
NEVER IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT… WAS SO MUCH OWED… BY SO MANY … TO SO FEW…

Keep in mind that government taxes on a gallon of gas cost you about 4 times more than the eeeevil oil company's profit on it.

My guess is this is temporary but long term the price only goes up so that is why we must get off of oil.

it appears that when gas goes down in the east, prices go up in the west and vice versa. prices have been slowly going down, but just waiting for that first bump up in prices again. i still say greed, pure unadulterated greed!

I really feel like a roller coaster ride with prices. The sad part is with a roller coaster, the fast parts are supposed to be the down hills, not the up hills.

Remember all those forecasts of $5 gas this summer? It's July and you're complaining about price rises in the $3 range?
