OttawaGasPrices.com news release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Over one million people visit OttawaGasPrices.com As gas prices continue to rise, so do the number of visits to OttawaGasPrices.com. The popular consumer Web site welcomed the 1,000,000th visitor since it opened in May 1999. OttawaGasPrices.com is an interactive guide that helps consumers find Ottawa's best and worst gas prices, along with gas price news and links. The site is run by Glen Gower and Derek Tam, who launched the site when they were students at Carleton University. "The site is a great example of what the Web can do for consumers," says Gower. "It's a tool that lets people find information that helps them save money." "The number of people who visit our site daily continues to grow," says Tam. "We average around 2,000 unique visitors every day, but that number can go over 3,000 when there's a spike in gas prices." Earlier this year, the site added historical price graphs to give visitors a new tool to track price trends. A year ago today, the average gas price in Ottawa was 76.6 cents per litre - about ten cents higher than the current price. Back in 1999 when the site was launched, the price was hovering around 55 cents per litre. To find Ottawa's highest and lowest gas prices, visit the site at http://OttawaGasPrices.com/
